Season 8 Villains Cast Posted by A.C on Jun 19 2008, 09:46 PM | comments (12)
The villains for the 8th and final season have been casted. According to Michael Ausiello's official site:
"My increasingly itchy moles report that Sam Witwer, best known to Battlestar Galactica fans as ex-Raptor ECO Alex “Crashdown” Quartararo, has been tapped to play the series regular role of Doomsday. Additionally, relative newcomer Cassidy Freeman is joining the cast as Tess, a sexy and vengeful firecracker with whom Lex hires to run his empire in his absence. Ironically, the actress’ most recent credit was the failed CW pilot Austin Golden Hour — starring none other than Green Arrow himself, Justin Hartley (who’s back on Smallville full time next season)."

Ask Ausiello: May 14 & 15, 2008 Posted by tarrow on May 16 2008, 01:25 PM | comments (1)
Good news at last! According to TV Guide's Ausiello, after weeks of negotiations, Allison Mack has signed a contract to return next season as series regular.
Smallville fans, consider this bullet officially dodged: Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that after weeks of tense negotiations, Allison Mack has sealed a deal to return next season as a series regular! Although the specifics of the new contract -- which was signed just hours ago -- are being kept under wraps, I'm told it calls for Mack to appear in all episodes produced next season. As I reported earlier this week, the actress' reps were (wisely) using the imminent departure of Smallville vet Michael Rosenbaum as leverage in the negotiations. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the strategy paid off.
There is also a big possibility that Justin Hartley (aka. Green Arrow) will return to guest star in Season 8.
Justin Hartley's CW drama pilot, Austin Golden Hour, failed to receive a pick-up this week + The towering Adonis has a talent-holding deal with the CW, which means the network pretty much owns him for the foreseeable future + His Green Arrow was wildly popular on Smallville, and fans have been clamoring for the Justice Leaguer's return since the moment he left + In light of Michael Rosenbaum's impending Smallville exit — Lex bids adieu in tonight's season finale (8 pm/ET) — and Kristin Kreuk's decreased role next season, the show needs all the familiar faces it can get its hands on + Sources confirm to me exclusively that producers are very keen on bringing Hartley back into the fold ASAP = Duh. Justin Hartley is returning to Smallville next season as Green Arrow!

The CW Announces 2008-2009 Schedule Posted by tarrow on May 14 2008, 10:29 AM | comments (5)
The CW has revealed their schedule for next fall in which Smallville will continue to run in its usual time slot on Thursdays at 8:00 pm ET. The official Smallville writeup reads: Returning for its eighth season, this new interpretation of the enduring Superman mythology and its classic characters blends realism and adventure into an exciting action series. Last season, Clark Kent and Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) became the sworn enemies that comic book aficionados have always known and loved. The season also brought storylines of Krypton and the El family, including the arrival of Clark’s cousin Kara, a.k.a. Supergirl (Laura Vandervoort), and the return of Brainiac (James Marsters). There were also exciting guest stars from the Superman mythology, including Dean Cain (“Lois & Clark”) and Helen Slater (“Supergirl”). Clark discovered more about his home planet, who his parents were, what his future holds and why he was sent to Earth.
The series stars Tom Welling as Clark Kent, Kristin Kreuk as Lana Lang, Erica Durance as Lois Lane and Aaron Ashmore as Jimmy Olsen. Reinterpreting the Superman mythology from its roots, SMALLVILLE was developed for television by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (“Shanghai Noon,” “Spiderman 2”), based on the DC Comics characters. The executive producers are Kelly Souders & Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer, James Marshall, Mike Tollin, Brian Robbins and Joe Davola. The series is produced by Tollin/Robbins Productions and Warner Bros. Television. Superman was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster.
Missing from the cast list are Allison Mack (Chloe) and Laura Vandervoort (Kara). It appears as though Kristin Kreuk will actually remain a series regular, contrary to previous notices.
Angie reviews 'Quest' Posted by Carlo on May 10 2008, 10:08 AM | comments (0)
Angie has posted her thoughts on the episode 'Quest'.
And when did Smallville start to be so bloody and violent? Is it necessary to show so much gore? Did we have to see both Tom and Michael’s chest carved into from belly to chin? And the gun fights? Always shooting people here and there. Just not necessary
More Info on New Season 8 Characters Posted by tarrow on May 9 2008, 08:27 AM | comments (1)
Doomsday and...Tess? zap2it.com has revealed more information on the two new characters of Season 8. Please be warned of potential spoilers.
"I'm told the female villain will be named Tess. In her late-20s, smokin' hot and incredibly strong, Tess will take aggressive control of Lex's estate in his absence..."
And what about Doomsday?
"I'm hearing he'll go by the name of Davis Bloome. A good-looking 20-something, he'll tend bar at a trendy Metropolis club, and be popular with the ladies."
Ask Ausiello: May 8, 2008 Posted by tarrow on May 9 2008, 08:01 AM | comments (2)
Could Lex, Lionel, Lana, AND Chloe be gone next season? Michael Ausiello reveals that negotiations have hit a snag with Allison Mack:
Just a week after it was announced that Michael Rosenbaum would not be returning full time as Lex next season, sources confirm to me exclusively that Allison Mack, arguably Smallville's most popular heroine, may be the next to go. This marks quite a turnaround from a few months ago, when I deemed Mack a lock to come back next season. And I wasn't the only one. Although a deal wasn't signed at the time, Smallville insiders tell me that all indications were that the actress was on board for Season 8.
But then Rosenbaum tendered his resignation and everything fell apart. "Allison's camp used Michael leaving as leverage in the negotiations with [Warner Bros.]," says one Smallville source, who adds that Kristin Kreuk's decision to only return for a handful of episodes as Lana only strengthened Mack's bargaining position. "They need Chloe now more than ever — and Allison's people know it." (Mack's reps declined to comment for this story.)
With budget cuts and already decreasing ratings, can Smallville afford to lose Mack too?
Angie reviews 'Apocalypse' Posted by Carlo on May 3 2008, 08:58 AM | comments (0)
Angie has posted her review for the recently aired episode 'Apocalypse'.
George Bailey was the richest man in all of Bedford Falls because he was a good man to so many people. He gave freely of his time and money. But he didn’t know this until he saw what the world would have been like if he weren’t in it. Every aspect of his life had changed and not for the better. Why mention this? Clark Kent did exactly the same thing. He decided that Earth would have been better if he never had been here. Little did he know what a major impact he had on everyone’s life.

Angie has posted her review for the recently aired episode "Sleeper".
The episode was odd but enjoyable at some points. If one could get past all the 007 James Olsen, then you would see what a deliciously evil person Lex Luthor really is and the passage of Clark to return to his home planet of Krypton. Read more...
