The person to guess the most number of people in this picture gets a SvPH cookie. We haven't given out too many cookies in a while, so its high time!

Is the person leading the animals Noah? Or maybe Moses?

I'm thinking the guy with the painting tools is Vincent Van Gogh
azmanian_devil
Fixed a lot of them. I bet this was painted by an asian guy, coz all of my asian friends are guessing weird names tongue.gif like Sun Yat Sen etc etc.

Will keep editing stuff. Continue giving your ideas.

I think I agree with Confucius and Aristotle, although I'll have to look 'em up more. The others I don't think so. I think I have the woman's name, I wrote it on another computer. Elizabeth is already in the picture.

As for Moses. No one had a picture of Moses so I don't think it could be him. Here are two things, the guy sitting at the table with his hand on his chin, who I said was Darwin, could be Leonardo Da Vinci and the guy leading the camels and stuff could be Darwin. Look them up the resemblence is there, and let me know.

a camel that has Yassar Arafat sitting on it. So does that mean Arafat was led across the Red Sea? It's just abuncha people incorporated into the picture. I wouldn't take the camel/sheep thing as it meaning that it must be Moses. Last I checked, the Bible mentions nothing about Moses leading camels. The sheep sure, but then the sheep is also standing next to Ghandi so that's kinda a moot point. His appearance could be associated with Noah, Methuselah, Elijah, Samuel, Eli, and various other bible characters. It's kinda strange how all of the people are obviously within the last few centuries, and then you have a guy who could very well be "Moses" or somebody when nobody knows what Moses looks like. Speaking of the Moses stick, it could be Aaron even because it was Aaron who actually did the tricks with the "Moses" stick.

Every time I came to look through the picture, I had to leave... now I see a character and I'm like I know who that is!.. and then I find out that a majority have been found by you brilliant SVPH'ers. so I feel stupid now. lol

that's cuz he was a fan of fried chicken. mmmm fried chicken

Here are some pictures to show a little support for my suggestion about Darwin. Compare the following picture with the guy leading the camels. The eyebrows, the side hair etc etc. Also, Moses was never portrayed as being bald.

--- Darwin

Now the person at the centre of the table. Peering at the picture. I say it's Leonardo Da Vinci. The painting he's staring at is a hint.

I've added Maxim Gorky to the picture. Thanks to a friend.

EDIT: Someone added a numbered picture, so I am uploading that instead. Note, I am getting this from another forum, so its not like I know where the answers or the source of this image is.

hey Az, is this a homework assignment of some sort?
azmanian_devil
lol @ tarrow, no thank god not. it's just a challenge of sorts now. More like wasting time at work tongue.gif

But I'm trying to see if we all can solve this together. It would be awesome! Unless I find the true source of this painting, which really is amazing. I'm about 90% sure its done by an asian (chinese) person.

I have no doubts about the clothes. But the painter has digressed wherever he feels like. Look at Bush. Does he wear those clothes? I think the painter has done quite well on the faces so any "errors" can be assumed as intentional. And besides, these are random historical figures, so I don't know if Moses fits in. We don't exactly have a picture of Moses to draw from. The ones you've posted are all artistic renditions.

I would think Jesus would be more likely to show up in the picture than Moses.
tarrow
I'm pretty sure that isn't Darwin...look at the way he's positioned. He's a leader figure. Looking up to the skies. Even if it isn't Moses (which I think is), I don't think it was meant to be Darwin at all. It seems like the painter wanted people to look at the painting and automatically be able to point out familiar faces and Moses automatically pops in my head when I look at that guy too. Everyone's positioned in a way that they're often portrayed: Audrey Hepburn with her hands like that, Abraham Lincoln sitting in that chair. So it makes sense that it's Moses cuz even if there's never been an actual picture of him, all the representations so far have kinda given him the same look.

oh btw, why is 102 in pink? Is that the only one we're missing now?
azmanian_devil
It doesn't matter. Moses would not be leading a camel with Yasser Arafat on it. I really don't think he would've painted Moses to be honest. Because religion has been excepted from this painting. I don't think I see any religious figures here, except for that one old guy with a key. These are just some people who have affected history in a way. I know all prophets have affected history, but there is a lot of faith there. I think everyone in this picture is all fact. Which is why I'd leave out Moses.

By the face it clearly is Darwin. The garbs and stuff can be excepted.
